Assia currently holds the position of Chief Security Officer and Executive Director for Space Security and Ministerial Security, Procurement, Contract, Material and Real Property Management, Service and Changement as well as Intellectual Property Management for Space Projects, at the Canadian Space Agency of the Government of Canada. Prior to this, she was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Invest in Canada, a federal agency. With 22 years of experience in the federal government, Assia is recognized for her expertise and outstanding achievements. As Executive Director, she oversees Corporate Services, directs Vision and Strategic Direction, ensures Governance (Board of Directors), manages Financial Management, Contract and Procurement Management, and Human Resources Management for the entire Invest in Canada organization, which has a budget of $35 million and employs 77 people.

Assia has also been responsible for Integrated Strategic Planning, Reporting and Monitoring, Audit and Evaluation, Risk Management, Project Management, and transformation initiatives, with a budget of $3.1 million and 31 full-time equivalents.

Among her major achievements over the past five years, she led horizontal transformation initiatives for Federal Real Property Services (RPS) aimed at adopting a client-centered model, optimizing resources, and establishing strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders. She also played a key role in establishing the Financial Oversight Framework for Federal Real Property Services and developing internal control mechanisms for federal social procurement.
